Privacy Policy

Overview

My Secret Ingredient is developed by 306 Holdings. This policy explains how the app handles information when you use it to save and edit recipes, import recipe details, build shopping lists, plan meals, keep cooking notes, and share household cooking tasks.

Information You Provide

The app may store recipe titles, recipe links, ingredients, instructions, edited recipe details, cooking notes, ratings, collections, meal plans, meal plan templates, shopping list items, timer information, household names, selected calendar event details, and images, videos, or text you choose to import.

How Information Is Used

Your information is used to provide the app's core features, including saving recipes, organizing your library, building shopping lists, planning meals, syncing your data when enabled, importing recipe details, sharing household information, estimating nutrition, showing selected calendar events, and helping you manage cooking tasks.

Device Storage, iCloud, and Android Backup

App data may be stored on your device. On Apple devices, app data may sync using Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services when enabled by your device settings or household sharing. On Android devices, app data is stored locally using Android app storage and may be included in Android device backup or transfer features depending on your device settings. If you prepare or connect a household account, the app uses Firebase Authentication and stores an account profile in Firestore that may include a Firebase user identifier, account connection type, display name, email address, and platform status. On Android, shared household content may also sync through Firestore. Household content is managed by the platform and cloud service where the household was created.

Photos and Videos

Photo and video imports are optional. The app reads the photo, screenshot, recipe card, saved video, or transcript that you select for import. On Apple devices, video recipe importing may use Apple's speech recognition framework. On Android, selected photo text may be processed with Google ML Kit on device, and transcript-based video structuring may be sent to 306 Holdings backend services to create an editable recipe draft.

Calendar Access

Calendar access is optional and used for household planning features. If you grant calendar access, the app may read selected calendar event titles, times, calendar names, and calendar colors so they can appear in the household calendar view.

Google Calendar

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, the app requests a read-only Google Calendar scope so it can list calendars and read upcoming events. On iPhone and iPad, Google provides access and refresh tokens through its OAuth service and the app stores those tokens in the Apple Keychain. On Android, Google Play services may manage the authorization. When you disconnect Google Calendar, the app asks Google to revoke the authorization, removes locally stored tokens after revocation succeeds, and removes imported Google Calendar events.

Premium Features

My Secret Ingredient offers a free experience with optional Household Plus subscription features. Purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund, and subscription management activity is handled through the app store where you subscribe, such as Apple's App Store or Google Play. The Apple app uses StoreKit for purchases and restores. The Android app may use RevenueCat to manage purchase status, restores, product identifiers, transaction status, and subscription entitlement checks needed to unlock premium features and shared household invitations.

Recipe Importing

When you import a recipe from a link, the app may request information from the recipe website to identify available recipe details. The websites you choose to import from may have their own privacy policies and data practices.

Meal Discovery

When you browse or search the meal-discovery catalog, the iPhone and iPad app sends the selected category, search text, or meal identifier to 306 Holdings backend services. The backend requests matching catalog information from TheMealDB without storing its API credential in the app. TheMealDB may apply its own privacy policy and service terms to those catalog requests.

Nutrition Estimates

Nutrition estimates are calculated from recipe ingredients using local nutrition data when available and public nutrition information when needed. When local nutrition data is insufficient, the iPhone, iPad, or Android app may send ingredient text and recipe yield to 306 Holdings backend services for an estimate. Third-party nutrition API credentials remain on the backend and are not stored in the app. Estimates are for general meal planning and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Diagnostics and Support

If you contact support, you may provide your email address and information about your support request. This information is used to respond to you and resolve the issue.

Tracking and Advertising

My Secret Ingredient does not include third-party advertising and does not sell personal app data. The current app does not use data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Data Retention and Deletion

My Secret Ingredient does not require a username or password for normal use. The app may create an anonymous Firebase identifier to prepare private household features, and it asks you to connect a Google or Apple account only when you create or accept a shared household invitation. Recipe, shopping, planning, and household data remains on your device and, when sync or sharing is enabled, may also remain in iCloud, CloudKit, Firebase, or Firestore until you delete it in the app, remove the app data, leave or delete a shared household, disconnect a connected calendar service, or request account and data deletion. Backend import, meal discovery, purchase status, and nutrition requests are used to provide the requested feature and are not intended for long-term recipe storage. From the app's Household screen, you can permanently delete the Firebase household identity and profile. For an Apple-connected account, the app also asks Apple and Firebase to revoke the authorization used for that identity. This action does not delete recipes stored locally or in your private iCloud/CloudKit database and does not cancel an app-store subscription. You can remove local data by deleting it in the app or removing the app, manage private iCloud data through your Apple account, and request help with broader account or shared-data deletion through the account deletion page.

Children's Privacy

My Secret Ingredient is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can help address it.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
